PR News Celebrates Excellence at PR People Awards


The winners of the 2009 PR News PR People Awards were announced today at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The annual PR People Awards honor the best and the brightest PR practitioners in a number of categories.



Among the winners, Leslie Gaines-Ross, chief reputation strategist at Weber Shandwick, took Agency Executive of the Year honors. Sal Petruzzi, SVP of Public Relations at Turner Broadcasting System, won the Corporate PR Professional of the Year award.

Six PR luminaries were inducted into PR News' Hall of Fame today. They include: Don Bulmer of SAP, Peter Debreceny of Gagen MacDonald, Donna Imperato of Cohn & Wolfe, Michael Kempner of MWW Group, Larry Parnell of George Washington University and Marcia Silverman of Ogilvy PR.

Also honored were the PR News 15 to Watch, up-and-comers age 30 and under, in both agency and corporate/nonprofit categories.
