Facing the Future: PRSA Conference Begins Oct. 18th

The PR world will congregate this week for the Public Relations Society of America's International Conference in Boston, Oct 18-20. This will prove to be an important event for national trade association PRSA, because a second national trade association, The Association of Public Relations, is forming to support the industry to potential clients.

With Y2K concerns at the forefront as the countdown to the new century continues, a number of conference workshops will address issues related to the use of technology. "How to Make Your Internet Public Relations a Success Beyond Your Wildest Dreams - How Industry Leaders are Building and Measuring Dynamic and Innovative Internet Communications Programs," and "Online Strategies for Public Relations," are a few of the offerings.

PRSA has also netted several impressive speakers, including change management guru Peter Drucker who will deliver the keynote, and John D. Zeglis, president and head of global operations at AT&T [T], who will speak on "Managing Knowledge with Communication Systems."

Former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert B. Reich, now a professor at Brandeis University, also will be a featured speaker, addressing the new rules for working in a global knowledge economy.
