Artist's Magazine

The December 1999 issue will feature a section on new products that make great holiday gifts for artists. Any art products for painting and drawing that would make great gifts are ideal for this feature.

Each product submission should include a description, order information, pricing as well as either a photo, slide or transparency of the product. They normally do not have time to test, review or photo your product, so make sure you send camera-ready art for them to use for the story. Also include a main customer service number where their readers can call to ask questions.

Deadline: No products will be considered for the December issue after JULY 30. However, the magazine also includes monthly product announcements if the July 30 deadline is missed. Events, competitions, juried shows are also listed in this monthly magazine.

There is a five-month lead-time required to print. In August, the magazine is launching a Web site that will include all art-related events and if you miss the publication deadline, your event can still be posted on their Web site.

Background: Artist's Magazine is the largest art magazine dedicated to teaching people how to make art. They focus on two-dimensional, traditional and realistic art. Their 225,000 readers consist mostly of empty-nesters in their 50s.
