Dotcom Backslash

Internet companies may have clamored to add "dotcom" to their names last year, but now the appendage commands about the same level of respect as a 3 a.m. infomercialized
product bearing the suffix "o-matic." No wonder online ventures such as LifeMinders Inc. and Infospace Inc. have dropped the superfluous ending from their official brand names
(per a June 30 article in eBiz Daily). Given analysts' latest forecasts regarding e-ventures' collective prognosis, those who continue to don the dotcom suffix may as well
be wearing a death sentence.
