Disney Tops Delahaye’s Corporate Reputation Index

The mouse roared late last year when Roy Disney, Walt's nephew,
got into a boardroom scuffle with Walt Disney Co. CEO Michael
Eisner. Despite the very public clash -- and some nasty media
coverage of Disney during the nearly two-week boardroom saga --
Disney still tops the 2003 Corporate Reputation Index. The ranking,
a quarterly assessment of the impact of news coverage on corporate
reputation, also includes Ford Motor Co., climbing from the 87th
spot in 2001 to 11th place in the two years following its SUV tire
crisis with Firestone, and Wal-Mart, despite a slew of national
stories lately about whether the retail behemoth is good (or bad)
for the economy.
