â–¶ Digital Overtakes Print: A study by Outsell revealed that digital media will take a higher share of advertising revenues than print this year for the first time in the U.S. Digital media will grow to a market share of 32.5%, compared with 30.3% for print. Other findings include:
• Total advertising expenditure levels in the country will climb by 1.2%, to $368 billion, as the country begins to recover from the downturn.
• New media will post an uptick of 9.6% (encompassing everything from online search and Internet display advertising to e-mail, webinars and mobile)
• The combined ad sales of television, radio and film will contract by 4%, to $86.4 billion in 2010, although broadcast’s relative share should improve.
• Outsell warned, however, that mobile revenues are likely to slide by 16% on an annual basis in 2010.
