Dave Daigle is the Associate Director for Communication in the CDC’s Office on Public Health Preparedness and Response (OPHPR). OPHPR leads the agency's preparedness and response activities by providing strategic direction, support, and coordination for activities across CDC as well as with local, state, tribal, national, territorial, and international public health partners.

Before joining OPHPR, Dave was the deputy director of CDC’s Division of Media Relations and a senior press officer for the National Center for Infectious Diseases. He has responded to multiple public health emergencies including the SARS, West Nile Virus, Hurricane Katrina, Marburg in Angola, Rift Valley Fever in Kenya and both the earthquake and cholera in Haiti.

Before working at CDC, Dave was a tank officer in the U.S. Army. He was also an English professor, public affairs officer and journal editor for Armor, the professional journal of the U.S. Army’s Armor Branch. Dave received a M.A. in English from Michigan State University and a B.A. in journalism from Loyola University New Orleans.
