Dan Ronan is the senior director of communications, media and marketing, for the American Bus Association. He joined the ABA in 2011 after three years with AAA Texas/New Mexico as manager of corporate communications/community affairs. Dan leads the communications effort at ABA, which includes working and collaborating with ABA's leadership, the board of directors and its membership on media and marketing issues.

He works with the motorcoach and tourism trade media as well general assignment reporters, serving as the association's spokesman. His responsibilities include crisis communication and reputation management, speech writing, editing and writing for the various ABA publications.

For more than 20 years, Dan was a television correspondent, producer, writer and assignment editor at CNN, WFAA-Dallas, WAGA-Atlanta, WJLA-Washington, D.C., and CBS Newspath reporting from Cuba, the Iraq/Kuwait border, Mexico, India, Pakistan and more than 30 of the 50 states. He was awarded eight Emmys including one for his reporting on the Oklahoma City Bombing and two Edward R. Murrow Awards, one for his coverage of the Space Shuttle Columbia accident. He was one of the first "embedded reporters" with U.S. troops along the Iraq/Kuwait border in 2002/2003 and flew with NOAA into the "eye" of two category five hurricanes, Ivan and Rita.

Dan is on the board of directors of Snowball Express, a 501©3. Each December, Snowball Express holds an all-expenses-paid, five-day, four-night gala for the surviving spouses and children of the men and women in uniform who died defending our nation since Sept. 11, 2001.
