Crisis PR Pointers

When disaster strikes and a hospital policy is criticized, PR communicators must be on the frontline ready to salvage the situation. Immediate action should include:

  • Collecting accurate information about the policy in question.
  • Identifying whether there is a historical precedence and understanding the rationale behind the policy.
  • Communicating what is being done to re-evaluate and possibly revise or rescind the policy.
