It’s one thing to build a cool place to hang out in the middle of Manhattan; it’s another thing to get some value out it. While most of the Southwest Porch’s atmosphere is dedicated to being light and fun, there were some nuts-and-bolts business-building aspects to it, including:
• Executive chats: Local business leaders spoke with Southwest executives to learn more about the Southwest philosophy.
• Service showcase: The porch gives Southwest Airlines the opportunity to showcase its service not only from LaGuardia but from other outposts as well.
• Mecca for media: Southwest hosted media events around the new service and for its partners, like SkyMall.
