communications.

university director of public relations. He was director of college
relations at Connecticut College, New London, Conn.
Doubletree Guest Suites, Chicago, hired Brian Hanover as
marketing and promotions manager. Hanover was an executive with
Edelman Public Relations Worldwide, Chicago.
Sue Kennedy, a senior vice president at Cohn & Wolfe, Washington,
D.C., joined Very Special Arts, Washington, as vice president of
communications. The arts center is an affiliate of The John F.
Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington).
First Union Corp. named Alice Lehman director of corporate
communications at the bank holding company's Charlotte, N.C.,
headquarters. She was managing director of the company's Loan
Syndication Group.
DIRECTV International Inc., Los Angeles, named Penelope
Longbottom vice president of public affairs. She held the same
position at DIRECTV's parent company, Hughes Communications Inc.
Kevin Murray joined British Airways, London, as director of
communications. He was director of corporate affairs at another
British firm, AEA Technology.
