Corporate communications VPs should expect to pull in close to $190,000 this
year, according to the 2001 Corporate Marketing and Communications Compensation
Survey. Conducted by William M. Mercer, a human resources consultancy, the survey
includes compensation information for 33 jobs in marketing and communications,
from entry to senior levels. The 2001 median total cash compensation for a VP
of communications is $189,700, a figure that drops to $101,200 for a corporate
