This hands-on session on March 9, led by Cision Account Director Greg D’Andrea, will provide you with a framework for planning how you spend your time on various media relations efforts so that you have the right media mix to yield a high return on your investment of time and resources.
As the online media environment gains in relevance to mainstream print and broadcast media, it becomes more important to be able to define what forms of media you need to spend most time on. Just as marketing managers need to determine an appropriate marketing mix for advertising, direct marketing, public relations and other marketing investments, PR managers and directors planning their public relations program investments need to determine the right media mix.
This workshop will help you answer questions such as:
- How do I determine what audiences I need to reach, and how do I understand what media will reach them best?
- What kinds of research tools will help me target my audiences more effectively?
- When I set my budgets and allocate my own time and my staff resources, how do I decide what investments I should make in trade-media outreach, consumer media, business and broadcast media, social media programs, analyst/influencer programs and other activities?
- How do I develop messages that are consistent with each other while being tuned for the specific interests of various constituencies?
- How can I become more effective in monitoring and measuring results of these various elements of the media mix?
- How can I use data – the language of business – to justify my investments and plan next year’s programs?
This three-hour workshop is a hands-on, interactive program, giving you the opportunity to tackle the challenges most relevant to your needs so you walk away with a clear understanding and new ideas for how to allocate your resources.
