Another Hyundai executive has defected to Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA). Mitsubishi said last week that it hired Bob Martin (ex-product planning chief at
Hyundai Motor America to the new post of director-brand marketing, effective this week. Martin's appointment was preceded by the abrupt departure of Ian Beavis, senior VP-
marketing, product development and public relations, who resigned, citing personal reasons, according to Beavis, an auto industry veteran who had experience on
both the agency and client sides, joined Mitsubishi a year ago as part of a new management team. Martin follows in the footsteps of MMNA CEO Finbarr O'Neill, who left HMA last
year to helm Mitsubishi's U.S. operations.
