BizSpace, publisher of several telecom Web sites, closed its doors on July 31. The company ran nine sites, including ASPconnection.com, Broadbandinfo.com, CallCenterBiz.com,
CLEC.com, OpticalNetBiz.com, TelecomBiz.com, TelecomIT.com, TheIPsite.com and WirelessBiz.com. According to PRN's sister publication, min's b2b, farewell letters posted on all the
BizSpace sites read, "The downturn in the telecom sector has pummeled our business model. Providing free news and analytical content in real time, supported by industry
advertising, was a great idea - it just doesn't pay the bills anymore." BizSpace sites will be redirecting future traffic to Birch Telecom (http://www.birch.com). Two days before the BizSpace shutdown, Birch itself announced it had filed for bankruptcy protection as it reorganizes.
