Toby Daniels
Toby Daniels is an entrepreneur with a passion for emerging media, technology & social innovation.
Daniels is the CEO of New York based Crowdcentric which was founded as a means of bringing people together around the world via collaborative platforms that fuse real-world and online experiences, connecting people, content and conversation.
Crowdcentric owns and operates Social Media Week, a bi-annual conference that takes place simultaneously in multiple cities including New York, Berlin, London, San Francisco, Toronto and São Paulo and LA, Bogotá, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and Milan.
Daniels is also the Co-founder and Executive Director of ThinkSocial at the Paley Center for Media, a non profit initiative that is dedicated to advancing public interest activism through emerging media and technology.
Recently, Daniels combined his passion for open innovation and mass collaboration by launching the betacup in partnership with Mutopo. Sponsored by Starbucks, this new initiative aims to reduce paper cup consumption through an open, collaborative design contest.
Prior to launching these new ventures, Daniels headed up business development for Mint Digital’s North American operation and before that he was the Managing Director of Online Creative Communications, a London based digital agency, which he managed for 7 years.
In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Daniels is also a passionate contributor to a number of non-profit organizations. In 2009 he successfully led the team that was behind NYC Twestival, which was part of a global network of fundraising events in support of charity: water. He is also currently serving on the senior board of CampInteractive, a New York based not-for-profit organization that empowers at-risk, inner-city youth through the inspiration of the outdoors, and the creative power of technology.
