Bill Adams, PR Guru, Dies at Age 62

Internationally recognized PR expert Bill Adams died March 13
from an apparent heart attack. Adams, a professor of public
relations and advertising, taught PR for 13 years at Florida
International University, where he was the recipient of numerous
awards. In 2000, he was the first professional ever to
simultaneously be named by PRSA as the nation's Outstanding Public
Relations Educator and Advisor of the Year. "There is no professor
on FIU's faculty who did more for his students, inside and outside
the classroom, than Bill Adams," says J. Arthur Heise, dean of the
School of Journalism and Mass Communication at FIU, which is
setting up a scholarship in Adams' memory. Adams, who lived in
Plantation, Fla., is survived by his wife, Barbara and three sons.
