Investor relations professionals seeking ways to reach shareholders and others with financial interests are turning to the Interet, according to a recent benchmark study.
The study, "Corporate Communications Benchmark 1997," reveals that more than 50 percent of survey respondents (senior communication execs were queried at more than 700 public companies) would use electronic communications - i.e. the Internet and intranets - to solicit feedback from stakeholders.
And 31 percent plan to use intranet and Internet technology as part of their measurement methods.
The study was sponsored by Edelman PR Worldwide, the Opinion Research Corp. and the Integrated Marketing Communications Department of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. (Edelman, 312/240-2685)
