Rosemary Mercedes, Senior Director, Corporate Communications, Univision Communications Inc.
Rosemary has led several initiatives that range from optimizing process and strategy around Univision's Upfront presentation and elevating Univision's sports authority in the media conversation to launching an internal communications capability and using digital strategically for crisis management.
Since the launch of Univision Deportes Network, one of the goals was to change the narrative around UCI and sports content. Univision Deportes went from being just another sports network that launched to the leading source of intelligence around soccer and Hispanic consumption for reporters. Part of the strategy included establishing relationships with influencers and bloggers, using data that positions wins against other sports platforms and using events like the Upfront as timely opportunities to make major sports announcements. Just in the past year, Univision Deportes has been in the headlines of stories of major top tier press and sports outlets—from Soccer America, Cynopsis Sports, World Soccer, Sports Business Journal and Sports Video Group to the likes of LATimes, The Wrap, Adweek and The Washington Post. Univision Deportes has also been at the center of social conversations by key reporters, including Mike Reynolds, Austin Kar, Ian Thomas, and many others. Today, Rosemary is just a phone call away for reporters of The New York Times and others for insight on Hispanic Sports.
