Emily Abbas, Chief Marketing Officer, Bankers Trust
Emily has managed large teams and projects in corporate and agency environments, as well as teams of 100 in volunteer roles. The bottom line is she gets things done while building bridges along the way. Also a past Silver Anvil winner, Emily was named one of The Des Moines Register’s “14 People to Watch in 2014.” In fact, she has stepped up her involvement in her profession and the community. What is most impressive is how much time she spends mentoring students and young professionals.
Last fall, Emily was hand-selected by CEO and President Suku Radia for a new executive-level and high profile job at Bankers Trust. Six months later, he asked her to also serve as the Bank’s Chief Marketing Officer, an elevated role leading the internal marketing and communications team. One of the largest impacts she has made at Bankers Trust is the creation of a Young Professionals Initiative that is focused on attracting and retaining the next generation of bank customers and employees. As a part of this initiative, one of the most recent campaigns she oversaw was in partnership with the Retail division to encourage customers to deposit checks using their mobile phones. The campaign, which encouraged the use of technology, used website and intranet content, e-mail blasts, social media, video, internal communications and more.
