2012 Top Places to Work in PR: Borshoff

Borshoff

Borshoff takes an open-door policy to a new level. Employees are encouraged to seek out principals and other senior management with ideas, questions, concerns. The SIGI (Strategic Integration and Growth Initiative) program allows all employees to contribute to the management, growth and advancement of Borshoff. With teams ranging from staff development to client relations to operations to branding, SIGI provides a collaborative forum where employees help Borshoff move toward strategic goals.

At company-wide staff meetings, the managing principal and SIGI team leaders present quarterly scorecards showing progress YTD on key financial indicators and key agency initiatives; questions are encouraged. An extensive boot camp helps new employees at the 90-day point do a deep dive into company history, culture, how the business works (finances), career paths and more. A principal always co-leads this interactive session.

Borshoff’s Bring your Baby to Work program allows employees to bring their 6-week to 6-month-olds to the office. And its wellness program includes subsidized yoga classes onsite, free pedometers, educational seminars and incentives to promote healthy living and positive work/life balance. Those who reach set wellness goals receive $50 off their monthly insurance premium. The program has 91% employee participation.
