PR News’s second annual PR Student of the Year award honors outstanding students who demonstrate leadership, talent, and passion for the public relations and communications area of concentration. Students must be enrolled in the PR/Communications field of study at a college or university and be a junior, senior (or equivalent) or graduate student.

A panel of judges will choose up to 3 students of the year. The winners will be honored at a fall PR People of the Year event at that National Press Club in Washington DC and featured in press releases, in PR News and on prnewsonline.com.

Nominate the future leaders of PR now! Entry deadline is April 30, 2009.

Eligibility Requirements

Students need to be nominated by a professor who has taught the student for at least one full semester. Professors must provide a 200-300 word description as to why this student is deserving of this honor. 

Please highlight the following in your nomination:
  • Excellence in academic achievement in PR & communications
  • A demonstrated interest in pursuing a career PR/Communications
  • An example of a strong campaign, initiative, volunteer activity or paper that shows his/her passion for the field and potential talent as a professional
