There is no task too big or small for Stephen Wilson – he will jump right in and ensure the best possible results are achieved.
His accomplishments speak for themselves. However, one endeavor, in particular, recently showcased Wilson’s abilities and growth – his work for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.
In October 2014, the Reeve Foundation launched “The Big Idea” – a fundraising platform to fund a life-changing therapy for people with spinal cord injury. Working with social and digital teams, Wilson helped create an integrated campaign that included a website build, videos, social engagement and advertising, celebrity outreach, media relations and a Comic Con panel to announce the news and drive donations.
Leveraging the 10th anniversary of Christopher Reeve’s passing (Oct. 10, 2014), The Big Idea launched as a promise to fulfill the actor and activist’s dream of “a world without wheelchairs. To drive social buzz, the teams reached out to influencers and celebrity friends, asking them to spread word on social media with #JoinReeve.
Social ads resulted in 145,000 impressions on Facebook and 346,000 impressions on Twitter and #JoinReeve has been mentioned over 3,000 times. Most importantly, the Reeve Foundation reached a milestone in raising its goal of $7 million by Dec. 31, 2014.
