PR is - and always has been - Jesse Scott’s lifeblood. At The Firm, Scott has a management role on more than 10 different client accounts, including a major financial institution, Caesars Foundation, Golden Entertainment, Treasure Island Hotel and Casino and Vantiv Entertainment Solutions.
One recently successful initiative involved The Firm Public Relations & Marketing (led by Jesse Scott and Jasen Woehrle) reaching out to various national outlets, pitching a story that focused on the efforts of Abby, a five-year-old Las Vegas resident.
Inspired by her grandmother’s breast cancer journey, Abby decided that she wanted to lift the spirits of other cancer patients like her grandmother. With the help of her mother, Elizabeth, Abby began assembling purple gift bags filled with items useful for cancer patients during their appointments or chemotherapy treatments and delivering those bags to Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) treatment centers.
Abby set a goal of delivering purple bags to 1,000 cancer patients in each state. Thanks to the efforts of Scott and The Firm, national media showed interest in the story, including The Today Show, which interviewed Abby, her mother, a CCCN oncologist as well as patients inside a CCCN clinic.
Nationally, 3,315,517 people viewed Abby’s segment on The Today Show on March 18, 2014. The story was also featured on The Today Show’s website and is still hosted on today.com. In addition to The Today Show, The Firm leveraged the national coverage to create local media opportunities. More than 45,000 people viewed a re-airing of The Today Show segment on the local NBC affiliate KSNV-TV, followed by an interview with Abby and her mother.
