2013 PR People to Watch: Joshua M. Silvia


Joshua M. Silvia, Senior Manager, Communications, Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility

Joshua Silvia has been leading and managing communications for the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) since September 2011. His primary focus has been directed toward creating and implementing a comprehensive communication plan and strategies for promoting HACR’s vision, mission and achievements through print and online communications.

With a passion for gathering and sharing information and broad knowledge of Web 2.0 concepts and tools, Silvia has taken the lead in boosting HACR’s social media efforts, guiding the redesign and launch of the organization’s website, and increasing exposure within the mainstream media. Through his efforts, HACR has seen a dramatic increase in the number of Facebook and Twitter followers and cyber communications surrounding the 2012 Annual HACR Symposium, reached unprecedented levels due to his introduction of interactive social media feeds during the event.

Silvia created, launched and continues to expand a comprehensive electronic messaging program that targets niche audiences through personalized email distribution, corporate alerts, and announcements, with the goal of increasing public awareness and support of HACR activities. He also serves as the marketing agency liaison and coordinates the development of brochures, publications, signage, and other marketing collateral.
