Winner: Entropy Solutions - Phase Change Matters blog
Entropy Solutions has been producing PureTemp, the world’s first 100% renewable phase change material, since 2007.
The mission of its 2014 digital initiative was to establish PureTemp's reputation as the world’s foremost expert on phase change material and thermal energy storage. The project involved redesigning the puretemp.com website and introducing an industry blog as well as an e-mail newsletter.
The Phase Change Matters blog highlights the latest news and research on phase change material and thermal energy storage—an industry first!
While developing the blog, the first goal was to develop a reliable network of sources. Entropy settled on a mix of Meltwater News, Google Alerts, Google Scholar and Science Direct, supplemented by regular visits to websites devoted to phase change technology and thermal energy storage, including those of its major competitors. Next, an effort was made to establish a voice (authoritative), a point of view (independent) and a rhythm (at least one post each day).
By the time the new website launched on Dec. 15, 2014, the blog was stocked with more than two-dozen entries. That provided first-time visitors with evidence of the company’s commitment to offering the latest news and research on phase change material and thermal energy storage.
In addition, the strongest blog entries are adapted for use in the weekly email newsletter of the same name and the first issue of the Phase Change Matters newsletter was distributed to a few dozen subscribers on Dec. 19, 2014.
As of July 1, 2015, the Phase Change Matters blog, which generates more than 1,000 page views a month, is the top-ranked page in a Google search for "phase change materials blog.”
