Del has a gift for “connecting the dots” between organizations and stakeholders, brands and consumers, key influentials and communities. It is his understanding of relationships and his ability to convey the right messages at the right time that have made Del a valued resource to clients worldwide.
As Vice President of Public Relations at United Way Worldwide, Del is responsible
for all global media and field communications strategies.
In his 26-year-career Del has managed a number of complex and successful communications programs including the start up of a multi-national business, employee communications during a downsizing, an image campaign for a major financial institution, and multiple crisis communications initiatives.
He has served with Young & Rubicam, Cohn & Wolfe, and Husk Jennings Galloway + Partners, where he was a co-owner of this Florida-based advertising and public relations agency. He also served as Director of Corporate Communications at AT&T American Transtech.
In 2004, Del served as President and CEO of the Public Relations Societyof America, the world’s largest public relations organization. He is an accredited professional (APR) and a member of PRSA’s College of Fellows. Del is a founding member of the Universal Accreditation Board, and is a past chairman of the North American Public Relations Council. Del served in 1990 as President of the Florida Public Relations Association, and is the recipient of FPRA’s “Dillin Award” for lifetime achievement in public relations. He is a member and past chairman of the Public Relations Advisory Council at the University of Florida. Del holds a master’s degree in communications and a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida, where he is honored as an “Alumni of Distinction.”
