Winner: Blue Cross & Blue Shield Rhode Island
In October of 2014, Blue Cross held its third-annual statewide company day of service with Blue Cross Rhode Island, which is the largest single company, volunteer event in Rhode Island History. To celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary, all volunteer sites chosen were community organizations that promote children’s health and wellness.
All across the state of Rhode Island 707 Blue Cross Blue Shield employees volunteered, surpassing the company’s 75 percent participation goal with 78 percent volunteering a total of over 3,500 hours in support of 32 community organizations.
