CSR Awards 2015: Recycling Program

Winner: DoSomething.org — H&M's Comeback Clothes

With H&M’s commitment to sustainable and ethical fashion and DoSomething.org being the largest youth organizer in the country, the fashion retailer and not-for-profit teamed up to get young people across the country excited about garment recycling. Through a campaign called Comeback Clothes, DoSomething.org and H&M aimed to activate 60,000 young people to collect and recycle 100,000 pounds of clothing.

In order to get young people excited about garment recycling, the two companies utilized celebrity support from the likes of Olivia Wilde and Victoria Justice, as well as popular YouTube influencers and fashion bloggers. The Comeback Clothes campaign surpassed all of its goals, while tripling its initial impact target. The campaign engaged over 60,000 young people who participated by recycling over 300,000 pounds of clothes.
