2014 Rising PR Stars: Hartley Suter

Hartley Suter, Account Director, Fahlgren Mortine

Hartley is one of the most sought-after after employees — by clients and colleagues — at a top-40 nationally ranked marketing and communications agency. Her versatility in marketing and communications combined with her maturity in client service are why she manages some of Fahlgren Mortine’s biggest brand relationships, including Honda North America, Inc. and Elmer’s Products, Inc. This combination is also why she became the lead on one of the agency’s largest accounts, just as the relationship was in danger. She stabilized it and set it back on solid ground. At a macro level, she is proof of the potential of the PR profession.

She was appointed as team leader for the launch of a long-term strategic platform for Elmer’s Glue. Hartley leveraged research on the social, cognitive and fine motor benefits of crafting to reach the target audience. The program was designed not only to educate consumers about the benefits of crafting, but also sought to connect Elmer’s with key influencers in the mom community to widen the brand influence beyond back-to-school glue. Elmer’s presence at the Mom 2.0 conference yielded an increase of 800 Twitter followers, 1,420 Facebook fans and 240 Instagram followers.
