2013 Nonprofit PR Awards: Website

Winner: CropLife America – CropLife America Website Refresh: www.croplifeamerica.org

In September 2012, croplifeamerica.org received a design refresh for its homepage and sub-pages. This redesign was unveiled at the 2012 CLA/RISE Annual Meeting, which was attended by nearly 500 industry representatives, board members and key stakeholders.

The purpose of the redesign? To create a different look and feel after a three-year cycle from the previous design, and to call attention to specific events, issues and content that the site delivers on a daily basis. The design refresh also aligned with the overall goals of the website.

The first overall goal was to present timely and informative content about the crop protection industry in an easily understandable format for CropLife America members and the general public. The second was to allow visitors of the site to quickly and easily navigate pages for maximum user experience and so they can find the information they need. The third objective is to make sure that all content is fresh and up-to-date. Refreshing content such as videos, news releases, white papers and event information on a daily and weekly basis is paramount to the overall success of the website.

Since the site design refresh, the site has seen a 28.6% increase in overall page views. —Bill Miltenberg
