2013 Nonprofit PR Awards: Twitter Communications Campaign

Winner: United Nations Foundation – RioPlusSocial

The United Nations Foundation’s RioPlusSocial was perhaps the most important gathering of technology, social media and global leaders in the history of South America. This global conversation focused on topics related to #SocialGood and how new media can help foster positive solutions to the world’s biggest problems.

The one-day event, co-hosted by Mashable in Rio de Janeiro, explored how social media and technology can play a pivotal role in creating sustainable solutions for the future of the planet. The day provided an opportunity to push the conversations of government leaders being held at RioPlus20 beyond the UN conference to a digitally connected audience around the world. —Bill Miltenberg
