Jeff Jarvis, author of Public Parts: How Sharing in the Digital Age Improves the Way We Work and Live and What Would Google Do?, has joined the roster of digital media experts for PR News’ Oct. 2 Social Media Measurement Conference at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.
In his afternoon keynote presentation, Jarvis, an associate professor and director of the Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism at the City University of New York’s Graduate School of Journalism and a creator and founding editor of Entertainment Weekly, will challenge PR pros and marketers to loosen their grip on their brands and initiate "reverse PR." Jarvis will talk about how social media can reverse the role of PR and present the public to the brand—if brands have the courage and foresight to cede control of brand conversations to the public.
Joining Jeff Jarvis as a recent addition to the Social Media Measurement Conference speaker roster is Justin Cutroni, analytics advocate for Google. Cutroni, along with Blue Fountain Media’s Alhan Keser, will lead a Master Class in Google Analytics.
The Oct. 2 PR News Social Media Measurement Conference in New York brings together top measurement experts—from agencies, corporations and nonprofits—to share practical advice and innovative strategies and tactics to help communicators prove the value of social media to senior management. The interactive setting is designed to allow ample time to ask questions during panels.
Attendees at the Social Media Measurement Conference will earn eight credits toward a PR News Certificate in Social Media. A total of 32 credits earned within a 24-month period is required to be awarded a Certificate in Social Media—the equivalent of attending four PR News Digital PR or Social Media Conferences.
