As senior editor, social media, Andrew Springer leads social media for ABC News. In this role, Andrew oversees the news division's social media strategy and team, which is responsible for running the social accounts of ABC News, "Good Morning America," "World News with Diane Sawyer," "Nightline," "20/20" and "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." Andrew also founded the news division's first Social Media Desk during breaking news for social newsgathering, which was part of the team that won a 2012 Peabody Award for covering Hurricane Sandy.
Previously, Andrew ran and developed social strategy for "GMA," the year it overtook "Today" as the #1 morning show. He is a graduate of the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.
