And the Winners Are…Top Campaigns, PR People Named

Despite the lackluster economy, corporate scandals and a nation at war - or perhaps partly because of those factors - this year's entries for the Platinum PR and PR People
Awards were the highest caliber year over year, and rolled in in record numbers.

PR NEWS honored the nearly 100 winners of these two programs last Wednesday evening, Sept 24., during an awards dinner cruise in New York City in which hundreds of executives
celebrated their hard work and successes.

Among those honored for their excellent campaigns and efforts in 2002 were PR firms, nonprofits, colleges and corporations of all ilks and sizes. Likewise, the PR People
honorees ran the gamut in age and experience. Taken together, the two programs represent the best of the best in communications.

In this issue, we list the winners and the honorable mentions. PR NEWS congratulates all the winners and thanks all those who submitted entries in these two programs. These
were two of the most difficult programs to judge as the majority of those that did not make the "short list" were impressive and strong entries nevertheless.

The winning campaigns and people will be profiled in PR NEWS' special Awards Issue on Oct. 13 and via case studies and features in PR NEWS throughout 2004.
