Named one of the PR News “Rising Stars of PR 2012” and recipient of the Cause Marketing Forum’s Golden Halo Award, Albe Zakes rose from marketing department intern to become global vice president, communication, for TerraCycle, the world’s foremost post-consumer packaging recycling company. Since 2007, Albe and his PR department have secured over 15,000 unique media placements and over $250 million dollars in ad value for TerraCycle’s products and corporate partners. Albe was integral in the transformation of TerraCycle from a small start-up into a successful and highly visible business operating in 23 countries on four continents and counting Kraft Foods, Frito-Lay, L’Oreal, 3M, Kimberly-Clark, Procter & Gamble and PepsiCo among its partners.

Under Albe’s management the PR department has secured appearances for his CEO on Oprah, Good Morning America, The Today Show, 20/20, CNN, CNBC and many more. Albe also places feature articles in hundreds of major business and consumer magazines and newspapers including the USA Today, the Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune, Reader’s Digest, Time, Newsweek, Better Homes and Gardens and Vogue.

Today, TerraCycle conducts 100% of its PR efforts in-house. In addition to extensive PR efforts, Albe overseas TerraCycle’s owned-media department which manages TerraCycle’s columns for over 15 third-party blogs including the New York Times, Inc. Magazine, Treehugger and Huffington Post.
