A Pub for the Newest C-Level Exec

Corporate America may not have caught on (see our cover story), but International Data Group is leaping onto the crisis management bandwagon with its new CSO title. Chief
Security Officer will launch in September and will be targeted at top-level execs charged with protecting corporate information, assets and infrastructure. IDG CEO Kelly Conlin
told PRN sister pub min's b2b the need for a pub like this pre-dated the Sept. 11 atrocities: "The underlying technological issues around security already existed," Conlin said.
Now, however, corporate security has become a full-time job for many information officers. CSOOnline.com launched last week, and IDG is planning conferences around the launch this
fall. (Derek Slater, executive editor, derek_slater@idg.com)
