This program will open for 2017 entries January 2017. Not everyone wakes up in the morning and looks forward to going into work. If you're one of the few, share why you love your firm or communications department! PR News is seeking your entry for its 2016 class of Top Places to Work in PR.

The winners and honorable mentions in each category (agency, corporation, government organization, nonprofit/association/NGO) will be announced at an awards event in December 2016. Winners will be selected by PR News editors, an outside panel of industry experts and your peers.

Who Should Enter

If you work at a PR agency, or for a communications/PR/public affairs department within a corporation, nonprofit, government organization, association or NGO, then you should enter PR News' Top Places to Work in PR Awards program.

Respondents are not required to answer all questions to be considered (except where indicated), but we encourage you to provide as much information as possible so that we can evaluate each submission fairly and accurately. Both domestic and international organizations are eligible and will be judged according to the category. Please note that the names and identities of all nominators will remain confidential, but the information provided will be used for judging purposes and for coverage in PR News Online.

How To Enter

Judges will review each organization's synopses specific to January 2015 through June 2016. Workplace culture and career advancement opportunities over a period of time will be considered.

Please include a 2-3 page synopsis with the following information:

In 4,500 words or less, please cover as much of the following, broken down by criteria:

  1. Type of company (agency, corporate communications department, nonprofit/NGO)
  2. How would you characterize the growth opportunities at your organization/department (annual reviews/promotions, fast-track positions, etc.)?
  3. How would you characterize the line of communication between yourself and senior management (I have a direct line of communication, I have no line of communication, I must go through my direct manager, etc.)?
  4. In addition to traditional benefits (health insurance, 401k contribution, etc.), does your company/agency offer any unique or noteworthy benefits?
  5. Do you believe that compensation at your organization is commensurate with comparable positions at peer organizations?
  6. Do you feel the voluntary turnover rate at your organization is low/medium/high? If you would classify it as "high," what reasons are most often cited?
  7. Are you given the opportunity to take on new projects/additional responsibilities based on your interests/skill set/initiative/motivation?
  8. How would you describe your organization's internal culture (creative, quirky, corporate, fun, inclusive, etc.)?
  9. Does your company offer any perks such as on-site or off-site day care? Flexible working hours and telecommuting? Formal mentoring programs? Etc.
  10. What sort of career training does this company offer (in-house or tuition reimbursement)?
  11. Is the managerial class diverse in terms of ethnicity and gender? Does it have a formal diversity council?
  12. Is the company fair in its advancement of women?
  13. Does the organization encourage volunteerism? Does it sponsor volunteer efforts and/or offer volunteer opportunities during official work hours?
  14. Are there incentives for referring new employees?
  15. Is there any additional information/insight you would like to add?

Deadlines / Entry Fees

Entry Deadline: June 3, 2016
Late Deadline: June 10, 2016
All entries must be finalized by June 17, 2016.

Entry Fees:
The price of each primary entry is $399. There is a late entry surcharge of $275 per entry. Payment in full must accompany the entry.

For entries submitted between June 4 and June 17, 2016 please add a $275 late fee per entry. Finalists will be notified in October and honored during a luncheon in December 2016 in D.C.

All entries are non-returnable and non-refundable.

How are the entries judged?

Entries are judged by a blue-chip panel of PR executives, as well as by the staff of PR News. We evaluate your entry based on the criteria listed in the “Compiling Your Entry” section.

Who is eligible to win an award?

If you work at a PR agency, or for a communications/PR/public affairs department within a corporation, nonprofit, association or NGO, then you are eligible to enter. Individual branch locations within a corporation, agency or nonprofit are also eligible to enter on their own.

When and where will the Awards Luncehon be held?

The winners will receive their award during a luncheon in December 2016 in D.C.
