PR pundits love to wax optimistic about how far the industry has risen on the reputation scale, but the profession still seems to be reviled by scriptwriters in TV land. Case
in point: last week's episode of Fox's "Ally McBeal," which cast a PR executive in the defendant's seat for discrimination after she fired her receptionist for becoming too fat.
The PR exec used the "image is everything" line in her defense and won the case.
