Winner: Cisco Systems - My Networked Life: True Stories from a Connected World
To demonstrate the power of connected technology and position Cisco as the global leader in the future of intelligent networks, the company’s social media team developed and produced a weekly video series featuring next-gen/millennial workers in 12 of Cisco’s fastest-growing countries. My Networked Life: True Stories from a Connected World, a documentary-style video series, looks at how young professionals, entrepreneurs, artists and students are using connected technology to achieve goals and realize their dreams.
The goal was to tell stories in a way that would communicate a unique generational shift to Cisco’s primary audience of media, analysts, business decision makers and industry influencers. Cisco anchored its stories with its own research, but was careful not to interrupt the story with data or branding. This allowed viewers to experience the story in its original state, uninterrupted.
The series was posted on The Network (thenetwork.cisco.com/mynetworkedlife), Cisco’s social channels, as well as a number of third-party outlets. A comprehensive marketing and amplification plan accompanied this series, as well. The impact of this series continues to grow with recognition and the sharing of the series by major online publications including Huffington Post, Digiday and The Content Strategist, to name a few. All of the videos in the series were translated into the local languages with closed captioning provided.
